It varies. On interventional service, I perform ECT, supervise rTMS, or provide outpatient and inpatient evaluations for interventional treatments. On inpatient service, I round on various inpatient units with residents and medical students. On academic blocks, I prepare materials for upcoming presentations or lectures, working on clinical research projects, or preparing manuscripts. I also attend interventional psychiatry team meetings and lecture series.

What’s your favorite part of being a psychiatrist?

Working in the procedure suite. Being able to perform interventional procedures when other treatments have failed. Learning and contributing to the advancement of this field has been very rewarding.
