Where do you work?
I am a Clinical Associate Professor at University of Iowa Healthcare and work on the
main campus in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic.
Typical day in your shoes?
Most of my time is spent seeing patients and families in our outpatient psychiatry clinic where I am the
co-medical director. I also spend time staffing our inpatient child unit as well as teaching and
supervising medical students, residents, and fellows.
What’s your favorite part of being a psychiatrist?
My favorite part of being a psychiatrist is seeing the positive impact that my care has on patients and
their families.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?
“Real strength has to do with helping others” ~ Mr. Rogers
Favorite vacation experience/destination?
A beach or hiking somewhere in nature.
